Now to the fun part.. the itinerary
-
One-day hike through the jungle and the Wochine Nature Reserve. A 4-hour hike through the jungle.
-
During the hike, you’ll see different types of medicinal plants, timber trees, and animals. You’ll then arrive at the Wochine Nature Reserve, where you can see the largest fish in the Amazon, the pirarucu, and other animals.

At 12:00 p.m., we will return to Puerto Nariño for lunch at Los Hermanos Sanchez. After lunch, you will return to your hotel (Hotel Ayahuasca) to prepare for the following activities.

At 3:00 p.m. on the same day, the activities begin, including a 2-hour dolphin-watching tour to spot pink and gray dolphins on the Amazon River.

At 5:00 p.m., we will return to Hotel Ayahuasca to prepare for the next activity.

At 6:00 p.m., we will begin a night hike to observe non-vertebrate animals, tarantulas, frogs, snakes, and other animals.

At 8:00 p.m., we will return to Puerto Nariño for dinner at Restaurant Los Hermanos Sanchez.

Spend the night at Hotel Ayahuasca
-
8:00 a.m. Breakfast at the restaurant. Start of activities.
-
9:00 a.m. Visit to a Peruvian indigenous community and sloth watching. We’ll take a private boat and cross the Amazon River for 10 to 15 minutes. An additional Peruvian guide will be waiting for us to lead the activity. During the tour through the Peruvian jungle, you’ll have the privilege of observing sloths in their natural habitat and seeing the giant Hojé trees.

After exploring the jungle, at 12:00 p.m. we’ll head to the indigenous community of San Antonio to have lunch at a local family’s home and try a delicious traditional dish from the region, called Patarasca.

At 2:30 p.m., we will return to Puerto Nariño for our next adventure (spending the night in the jungle in hammocks with mosquito nets behind an indigenous community called Santa Teresita. You’ll learn how to set up your shelter for the night. First, you will board a private boat for a 40-minute to 1-hour ride to reach the Santa Teresita indigenous community. A local hunter-guide will be waiting to show you around their community and teach you about their customs and traditions. Then we’ll hike through the jungle for several hours. Once we arrive at the site where we will spend the night, we will set up camp and then begin building your campsite or shelter for the night. Then you will prepare your dinner over a fire.

7:00 PM: Start of a night hike to observe frogs, snakes, tarantulas, and other animals.

Spend the night in the jungle in the hammock.

We will return to Puerto Nariño to prepare for our next adventure.

8:00 a.m. breakfast
-
9:00 a.m., start of activities. We will cruise on a private boat along the Amazon River to observe the pink and gray dolphins.

12:00 p.m., lunch at Los Hermanos Sanchez Restaurant.

3:00 p.m. on the same day, we’ll take a private boat to Lake Tarapoto and settle into Cabaña el Capinuri Cabin. During the trip, you’ll be able to see more pink and gray dolphins. Once at the cabin on the shores of Lake Tarapoto, we’ll get ready for the following activities…

4:00 p.m., we’ll go traditional piranha fishing, swim in Lake Tarapoto, and watch the sunset.

At 6:00 p.m, we will take part in the following activity: caiman spotting in their natural habitat.

At 7:40 p.m., we will return to the cabin for dinner and to rest. The next day, we will return to Puerto Nariño.

8:00am breakfast.

9:00 a.m., activities start Visit Alto del Aguila Nature Reserve to observe monkeys and macaws and feed them.

12:00 p.m., lunch.

2:00 p.m, you will participate in a craft class using Chambira palm fiber, learning how it is made and used by locals

Tour ends at 3:30 p.m

Take the boat back to Leticia, arrive at about 5:00pm.

Recommendations and Suggestions

It is very important to have your passport or ID card on you, minors must have their identity card, or civil registry and the authorization of the parents (if only one of the parents accompanies you and if the program requires you to leave the country), if you are a foreign resident in Colombia you need your immigration card or passport (verify validity of the passport), as well as the current international certificate of vaccination against yellow fever, (apply with a minimum of 10 days before the trip.) and against tetanus. (Vaccines are a preventive suggestion but not mandatory).

For your trip to the Amazon include what is strictly necessary in your luggage.

Bring comfortable clothes that provide free range of movement, light and fresh (bring light colored garments, no black or dark garments). You can bring T-shirts, long-sleeved shirts, swimwear, caps or hats, sunglasses, comfortable footwear, sneakers, enough socks as well as refillable water bottles, raincoats, rubber boots, headlights or flashlights with their respective batteries or chargers.

If you are vegetarian, vegan or have a preference in your diet, inform us before your trip and let your guide know at the beginning of the tour.
