Now to the fun part.. the itinerary

  • Hike through the jungle to Wochine Nature Reserve, and spend the night in the jungle in hammocks with mosquito nets behind a community called Santa Teresita.

  • Activities begin at 9:00 a.m. with a 4-hour jungle hike. During the hike, you’ll see different kinds of medicinal plants, timber trees, and animals. You’ll then arrive at the Wochine Nature Reserve, where you can see the Amazon’s largest fish species, the pirarucu, lotus flowers, and other animals.

  • 12:00 PM: We will return to Puerto Nariño for lunch.

  • 2:30 PM on the same day: We’ll get ready and take a private boat to cruise down the Loretoyacú River for 40 minutes to an hour, passing by several indigenous communities.

  • Then, a local hunter-guide from the community will be waiting for us to lead the following activities: a jungle hike to explore the flora and fauna, with a chance to see animals in their natural habitats.

  • Then we arrive at the site where you will learn to build your own shelter to spend the night in hammocks with mosquito nets. Once it is built, you will learn to prepare your dinner over an open fire.

  • 7:00 PM: Night hike to observe insects, tarantulas, frogs, and other animals.

  • 8:30 PM: Rest in hammocks for the night

  • 8:00 a.m.: Breakfast at a local family home in the Santa Teresita Indigneous Community

  • Activities began at 9:00 a.m.

  • We will carry out the following activities: we will return to Puerto Nariño by boat and cross the Amazon River  to the Peruvian indigenous community of San Antonio de Cacao.

  • An additional guide will be waiting for us to go sloth spotting in the Peruvian jungle and see the ceiba tree.

  • 12:00 PM: Lunch at a local home in the indigenous community of San Antonio to try a typical regional dish, called Patarasca
